Step by step to finding your talent....
How to find your talent
If you google what “talent” means it says that talent is a natural skill.
But a let’s be honest who knows what their “natural” skill is?
Like yeah, some people do and that’s great but then others have no clue...
You try and figure it out but there’s no use and when you can’t find that, it sucks.
Your confidence in yourself drops, you don’t think do yourself has worthy...
It feels like everyone around you has these amazing talents while you are there talentless...
BUT THAT ISN’T TRUE!!!
(Please don’t think like that... you are amazing, beautiful and talented in many ways...)
It may not be visible but it’s there, trust me....all we have to do is look for it!!!!
So this week, let’s jump into finding YOUR talent...
Step 1: look at different angles...
Most times we focus on the main things that are associated with a talented person like singing, dancing, drawing etc.
But all of those are just part of something bigger...
Let’s take singing as an example...
Singing is part of music.
And let’s say...
You love music (music is your whole world)
And you love singing (do re mi...)
BUT it just isn’t going your way...
Maybe you just can’t hit the right notes, you are out of tune etc.
But...
Instead of feeling bad about it and giving up on music, look at it from a different angle...
“Oh I’m not that good at singing...but can I play an instrument...maybe I am good at songwriting...maybe I can make really cool mixtapes...”
Sometimes your talent isn’t obvious.
Yes, it seems like singing is the only talent you can have while interested in music...
But...
There’s also songwriting, producing, recording and playing instruments.
They are all part of the music industry.
You just have to try and find your angle in it...
Step 2: ask around you
I know that you probably have heard the advice to “talk to someone” a hundred times.
But it’s the best advice anyone can give...
Sometimes YOU can’t see what you are talented at but the people around you can.
Ask family, friends and acquaintances.
(Ugh talking to people... but try it it’s fun, haha)
Ask them...
“What do you think I’m good at”
“What is the first thing you notice”
Sometimes your natural talent might not even be a thing you do physically.
Like drawing, sewing, painting, cooking.
Sometimes it’s something you don’t even notice you are doing.
Like communicating, storytelling, explaining.
Those things are hard to do...
(Trust me, almost 77% of the population don’t like public speaking)
Maybe you are 23% of the population that enjoys it.
Maybe you communicate well with people.
Maybe you are very good at telling a verbal story.
Maybe you can explain it clearly.
All these things go unnoticed by us since we do that every day...
But the people around us notice them.
So ask around you and if your talent involves these things, it’s amazing and you should feel super proud!!!!
Conclusion
I am not an expert nor a specalist.
Don't give up and just believe in yourself.
You are amazing and will do great things.
Til next post,
Yours Truly,
E. xxx
